On any given day, you will find me curled up on the couch or the back porch, reading a philosophical book. I love reading novels that shift my perspective on the world. These three books will teach you about who you are and why you are here. If you want to live a happier, more fulfilling life, keep reading!

1. THE TAO OF POOH by Benjamin Hoff

This captivating book draws parallels between my favorite childhood character, Winnie the Pooh, and Taoism, a Chinese religion. Using childhood stories, Benjamin Hoff explains the simplicity of Taoism and the advantages of living in the moment. If you are always on the go, read The Tao of Pooh to simplify your life. This has been my favorite book since my first time reading it when I was 10 years old. The storytelling is so masterful, even a child will be entertained. With only 158 pages, there’s no excuse not to give this book a try.

2. SIDDHARTHA by Hermann Hesse

Do you believe in destiny? In this adventure story, Siddhartha discovers that the path to enlightenment is not as achievable as he had hoped. Follow Siddhartha as he follows his destiny and finds out the meaning of life. Experience his search for true peace and find your true purpose and inner peace along the way.

3. THE FOUR AGREEMENTS by Don Miguel Ruiz

Our society is filled with toxic thinking and self-loathing. By following the Four Agreements described in this novel, you can use Ancient Toltec wisdom to break free of the toxicity and the negative agreements that trap us in our way of life. Assess your habits and beliefs. Are they yours or have they been influenced by your parents, friends, colleagues, or society itself? How can you live your best life?

Discover who you are with the four fundamental principles in this 160 page book. If you enjoy The Four Agreements, try The Four Agreements Companion Book, The Mastery of Love, and the Voice of Knowledge. These books expand on key concepts that are introduced in The Four Agreements, teaching you how to master awareness, knowledge, and love.

Please, pick at least one of these three enlightening novels to shift your perspective. Learn from Taoist, Buddhist, and Toltec wisdom to transform your life for the better.
